Australia’s Environment Protection, Biodiversity and Conservation Act has elevated the status of koalas from Vulnerable to Endangered. New planning controls in Queensland make it more difficult to develop land which includes koala habitat.

Owners of new housing estates at Ripley Valley and Tivoli in south-east Queensland have appointed Sargeant Planning as specialists in planning, urban design and ecological impacts.

“We are helping our clients based on our experience with acquisition of land. This includes minimising impacts on koalas along with costs associated with the development,” Director Boyd Sargeant said.

Sargeant Planning’s advice helps reduce time frames and navigation of the complex planning process.
