Development of new village approved for Yeppoon
General
Central Queensland is booming, with Livingstone Shire Council recently approving a significant development at Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast.
Sargeant Planning is designing and delivering the new relocatable home park village, catering to the over 50’s market.
The 24 hectare site on Tanby Road is 2.5 kilometres from the Yeppoon CBD and overlooks Ross Creek. The approval will enable over 280 new 2 and 3 bedroom houses, and will help address key housing shortages for the over 50’s demographic recognised by Livingstone Shire.
The village will include a residents’ clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, gym, exercise circuit, and bowls green. Sargeant Planning has designed the village to include large communal open space areas. These landscaped zones will contribute to the sub-tropical resort character of the village.
As well as designing the concept, project managing the development process and gaining the town planning approval, Sargeant Planning is also looking after the ecological and bushfire assessments and landscape master plan.
Director Boyd Sargeant said “This is a challenging project, particularly gaining required approvals from the Department of Main Roads for the entry off Tanby Road and dealing with ecological constraints associated with Ross Creek.”
“The concept has delivered a great outcome for the community and our client.”
“Council’s approval demonstrates that Sargeant Planning is the right choice for complex town planning projects.”
Sargeant Planning will now progress the operational works permits, tendering works and construction, with oversight of engineers and surveyors.
